The Dreams’ Time Capsule project took place during the White Night Festival in Riga, on September 7th and 8th 2013 and it was open from 2pm to 3am on the 7th and then for the whole day on the 8th. The participatory event was produced by the kim? Contemporary Art Center and curated by Zane Onckule.
More than 260 people recorded their dreams at the festival (Dream is Sapne in Latvian). Dream encounters were recorded in Latvian, Russian, German, Chinese and English. We wish to thank all the volunteers who engaged in the process-based survey. Without their help during the days (and night), we could not have engaged with the audience, answered questions or gathered all of the data that we did. We would like to thank all of the dreamers that patiently waited in the queue to contribute their dreams, and the supportive staff of kim?, especially Zane Onckule and Laima Ruduša.
We are really glad for this successful stage of the project despite of the short time, the archive has engrossed of about 300 dream encounters, which will be sent back in 2021-22. Looking forward to having dreamers feedbacks to delivering phase!
